Quality Japanese cuisine is often thought to be expensive and not filling. Zipang is determined to change that way of thinking by serving reasonably priced, authentic Japanese cuisine in a friendly atmosphere. Our chef is highly trained and has experience working in prestigious restaurants in Japan. All meals are prepared in-house, using the freshest possible seasonal ingredients.
Origin of the name “Zipang”
In his travelogue, Marco Polo referred to Japan as “Zipangu” as he often heard the Chinese of the Tang era refer to the country as “Jihpen”. In English we now know the country as Japan, “Land of the Rising Sun.”
Special Zipang Sauces & food
Homemade Teriyaki Sauces
Zipang’s chef’s signature dishes include his Homemade Teriyaki Salmon and Teriyaki Chicken. Both of Salmon and Chicken Teriyaki Sauces are prepared separately to enhance their flavors. The broth is prepared using slowly cooked chicken bones and the salmon bones to create deep, dark rich sauces.
